I know it’s been a while since my last post due to hectic corporate life (where is work-life balance? Haha) but today, I wanna share an important lesson, a learning that was shared during my most recent overseas training for work.

Our instructor, who happened to have a very relevant contribution in the company where I work at, shares about the three significant milestones in a person’s life that will define his/ her future.  There may be a lot of factors that will define your future, but these three really make sense and are noteworthy enough and here are they:

1. Graduating from College, and the University Where You Will Graduate Matters.

The very first milestone that will define a person’s future is the day he/she graduated from college. But of course, as most of us really undergo this process, the significant factor that sets you apart from others and helps define your own future is “where” or in what University-slash-school you will finish your tertiary studies.

Netizens all over the globe have expressed both their satisfaction and disappointment on the results of winners. Some have expressed their admiration, named their own best and even worst-dressed celebrities who absolutely did their best to glam-up for the highly-acclaimed awards event.  And while most of the stories have focused on these, I decided to focus on what seem to be relevant and applicable on our own daily lives -- life lessons which we can get from these highlights:

Hello there! I know it’s been ages since my last post (well technically around 2-3 weeks) and here I am now, trying to make it up.  :) I have been in a sort of vacation (which I will share details on my next blog post) and had been quite busy as well in the corporate world.

Anyway, so today I realized that it’s already February -- the Love month. Needless to say it’s one of the much-anticipated months for love birds, those who are in a relationship, or  simply those who have their own special someone. While for those who are still in search for their soul mate, it’s a month that they wished had never existed (nonetheless).

The Missin’ Piece

“It seems I have everything… but why does it feels like there is something missin’?”

Have you ever asked yourself this same kind of question? Have you ever experienced a dilemma wherein although life seems to be too generous on you, still it doesn't seem to be good enough?

In the context of today’s worldly aspirations and desires, having a job that pays you beyond your needs, can afford to travel the world right there and there, partying like there’s no tomorrow,  running your own business, having good set of friends and vast network , well then,  you are considered to be living the  “good life”. 

And to be living the “good life”, being happy, fulfilled and grateful should always follow. But if this didn't happen, if things seem to be still "incomplete", then it is really about time for you to ponder on the reasons why. You brain (or probably your heart) might have laid out to you the reasons, but I hope they we’re able to tell you the most evident one -- that there is still part of you that’s missing.

Yes, there is a missin' piece(s) within you that you need to find, you need to decipher. And it could be one of the pieces below:

2014: Livin' life to the Fullest

It’s new year. It’s time to start again. 

Stop thinking about what you’re going to do and start doing it. It’s time to live your life and be who you are. Forget about whatever happened in 2013 and just moved on. Take risks and be yourself, you only have one life and it’s time to make the most of it. 

Make a new year’s resolution and this time, achieve it no matter what the cost is.

New Year is all about a new beginning, a fresh start, a brand new life. 

It’s all about letting go of the past and moving on to a better (as what everybody’s optimistically hoping for) future.

And while everyone’s been sharing their new year’s resolution, I just wanted to share key points that I have pondered on how to live your 2014 to the fullest.

On Fulfilling Dreams This Season of Giving

One of the much anticipated events every year is Christmas.

For one thing, Christmas equates to celebration, festive, reunions and gatherings, parties, exchanging gifts and even Santa Claus and his reindeers.

Christmas is the season as they say to be jolly, to be merry; to spend quality time with people that matters most in your life -- family, friends, and special someone.

And amidst green, red and gold, Christmas as its real essence is the time to celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Korean 101: My Kind of #ThrowbackThursday

Today is another #ThrowbackThursday. And while looking for a possible #TBT picture to post, I suddenly saw this A4 paper which is about two to three years old already.

Numbers 1 to 10 plus 100 and 1,000 in English and Korean.

Yes, what you are seeing are numbers one to ten, one hundred and one thousand with a Korean translation below it (not written in Korean though).

On Life Trade-Offs

If I am to look back on one of the significant lessons that I learned and appreciate the most in my college days that would be the one relating to the Principles of Economics by Mankiw, specifically the principle “People Face Trade-offs.”

Reason why? Simply because this lesson is not just a plain principle that can be applied in Economics, it’s also a lesson which we may apply in our own daily lives.

People Face Trade-offs was defined in Mankiw’s Principles of Economics as: 

“To get one thing, you have to give up something else. Making decisions requires trading off one goal against another”.

True enough, making decisions and choices in life requires us to trade-off one over the other.

When it Rains, it Pours.

“When it rains, it pours” --  indeed this is one popular saying mostly associated  with  negative circumstances or situation.  When a problem arises one after another, when problems seem to overflow, we cannot help but utter this.

Pondering on why such had been the practice all over the globe,  it must be or it is simply because of the word “rain”. For something, rain is linked with calamity, worst destruction, if it continues to pour.
