The Right Wrong Partner

“We’re all seeking that special person who is right for us. But if you’ve been through enough relationships, you begin to suspect there’s no right person, just different flavors of wrong…” -Galway Kinnel

Hello there! I know it’s been ages since my last post (well technically around 2-3 weeks) and here I am now, trying to make it up.  :) I have been in a sort of vacation (which I will share details on my next blog post) and had been quite busy as well in the corporate world.

Anyway, so today I realized that it’s already February -- the Love month. Needless to say it’s one of the much-anticipated months for love birds, those who are in a relationship, or  simply those who have their own special someone. While for those who are still in search for their soul mate, it’s a month that they wished had never existed (nonetheless).

But then, I came across this special quote, which I found very relevant whether or not you are in a relationship. It’s a worth-sharing quote from Galway Kinnel which simply talks about:
  • Seeking that wrong person who had been made right for you.
  • Learning to appreciate and love the wrong person whom you are with.

And the quote goes:
“We’re all seeking that special person who is right for us. But if you’ve been through enough relationships, you begin to suspect there’s no right person, just different flavors of wrong. Why is this? Because you yourself are wrong in some way, and you seek out partners who are wrong in some complementary way. But it takes a lot of living to grow fully into your own wrongness. And it isn’t until you finally run up against your deepest demons, your unsolvable problems—the ones that make you truly who you are—that we’re ready to find a lifelong mate. Only then do you finally know what you’re looking for. You’re looking for the wrong person. But not just any wrong person: the right wrong person—someone you lovingly gaze upon and think, “This is the problem I want to have.” -Galway Kinnel

Indeed, this quote teaches us that there is never a right person or a perfect soul mate, just the right wrong partner who complements you for who you are.

So, have you already found your right wrong partner? :)

    1. awww.. thank you Rui! :) it’s just how I interpreted the quote…

Be careful on what you wish for… haha!

don’t give up on being a hopeless romantic – it’s one of the most wonderful thing of being a girl/lady. I’m sure you will have that “problem” soon… and I can’t wait to witness that. xoxo
